National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is an offline scholarship exam for class 10 students to encourage higher studies in the field of Science and Social science. This exam is conducted by NCERT at two stages. SCERT or other authority of the respective state conducts stage 1 at the state level and stage 2 exam is held by NCERT at the national level.

About stage 1 exam

Some state-level authorities like Himachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Uttarakhand, Meghalaya, Daman, Chhattisgarh, and Chandigarh has released the NTSE From 2022. Other states will also release the application form in October 2021 and last date to apply online will fall in November 2021. Stage 1 admit cards will be released in the last week of December 2021.

The NTSE 2021-22 Stage 1 exam will be held on January 15, 2022, in Meghalaya, Nagaland, and Andaman and Nicobar islands. Whereas, states such as Jammu & Kashmir, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Daman & Diu, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh will conduct exam on January 16, 2021.

NTSE Kerala stage 1 exam will held on January 30, 2022. For other states and UT's, the stage 1 exam will be held January 2022. Thereafter, NTSE answer key will be released by state authorities on different dates.

NTSE 2021-22 result for stage I will be declared along with the cutoff in February 2022. Only students who qualify for the NTSE exam 2021-22 will be called for the stage II exam which is scheduled to be conducted in June 2022.

Know About Paper Pattern
  • Each stage has two papers- MAT (Mental Ability Test) and SAT (Scholastic Ability Test) of 100 marks each.
  • Students will have 4 hours to complete both papers which include 2 hours for each paper.
  • Students who qualify both the stages of NTSE 2021 will be awarded scholarships.
  • A total of 2000 students will be shortlisted for the NTSE scholarships.

NCERT will conduct the NTSE 2021-22 stage 2 exam on June 12, 2022. The admit card for the same will be available to download in May 2022. Students should practice with the previous year's NTSE question papers to prepare for the exam.
